Zone Sounds lag with JAWS 16, Windows 7 and IE 11

Hi.

I normally log onto the Zone with my Mac, and zone sounds are instantaneous. However, on this setup, there is a good 10-15 second lag between the page refreshing and me hearing a sound. My Internet is not otherwise slow. Has anyone experienced this and do you have any suggestions?

Hi there, I have experienced this indeed, and irefox doesn't seem to be any different, although I fancy it's got to do with the plug-ins they run. However, I use NVDA, but I dubiously believe screen reader maters in this case.

To stop the lag in IE, add the site to the compatibility view list. This site is written with very old code. Once you do this, you'll notice a hute difference immediately.

Hi

I've been having the lag problem on this site ever since I bought my Windows 7 laptop.

Anthony, can you explain how to add the site to the compatibility view list? I have no idea how to get there.

Go to tools, then arrow down to compatibility settings and complete the dialog there. Be sure to hit okay to get back out of it and save your settings. at the add site, the zone should already be highlighted.

Well I followed your instructions, but I didn't come across an okay button, just a close button. But so far it seems to have worked. Thank you.

I find it to work, too. Thanks Anthony. Just, don't forget to turn them off before signing in from an iPhone or iPad. lol
